The Foundations exam (FNDN 640-509) may be taken in place of the Routing, Switching, and Remote Access exams required for CCNP and CCDP Routing and Switching certifications. Candidates must pass all three areas of the Foundations exam in order to pass the exam.

Questions for the Foundations exam are drawn from the Routing, Switching, and Remote Access exams currently in use for CCNP and CCDP certification. Candidates must pass all three areas of the Foundations exam in order to pass the exam. Refer to those exams for a description of content likely to be included. However, other related topics may also appear on any specific delivery of the exam.
