Best of VMworld 2009 Gold Award Goes to Cisco

SearchServerVirtualization.com received more than 175 nominees for the eight categories, and the new Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) won in the Hardware for Virtualization category with its combination of server, network, and virtualization resources in a single integrated platform. Judges from TechTarget's SearchServerVirtualization.com said that Cisco UCS "provides a unified platform for hardware and networking that radically reduces the number of devices requiring setup, management, power and cooling, and cabling....This offering will be hugely impactful in the marketplace."

Cisco Sponsors VMworld Data Center for Instructor-Led Labs

VMware worked with primary partners, including Cisco, to design and deploy a centralized data center architecture to support its instructor-led labs at the conference. These labs are an important part of the VMworld experience because some of the most technically astute virtualization customers have the opportunity to experience the latest innovations firsthand. The VMworld data center was used to run 12 instructor-led labs on the Cisco UCS. There was a separate infrastructure for the self-paced labs.
