Keith Goodwin Biography


Keith Goodwin leads a worldwide organization responsible for the strategy supporting Cisco’s business with more than 40,000 channel partners, representing Cisco’s primary route to market. This global partner community, which includes systems integrators, value-added resellers, distributors, and others, accounts for over 80 percent of Cisco’s revenue. These partners significantly expand Cisco’s customer reach around the world with innovative solutions and services based on Cisco technology.

Goodwin oversees a channel partner program that is widely recognized as industry-leading. He and his team develop the strategic initiatives and program innovations that create channel capacity to drive Cisco’s growth in existing markets and new areas of opportunity. Goodwin’s organization also ensures partners have the right capabilities and skills to meet evolving customer needs, while accelerating market adoption of Cisco products and services. Under his leadership, customer satisfaction with Cisco’s partners and the loyalty of those partners to Cisco increased to all-time highs. In 2007, Goodwin was named one of the “Top 25 Most Innovative Executives” by CRN, a leading channel publication.

Goodwin previously led Cisco’s Americas International Theatre, which included Canada, the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central and South America. He grew revenues more than 50 percent during his last two years in the role, while customer satisfaction reached an all-time high. In 2005, Goodwin was named “Technology Executive of the Year” by the business publication Latin Trade. He began his Cisco career in 1999 as Vice President of Operations for the Worldwide Field organization.

Before coming to Cisco, Goodwin spent 20 years with Hewlett-Packard. In his most recent role as Vice President and General Manager of the Worldwide Enterprise Accounts organization, he led a team of 6,500 people in direct and channel sales, technical support, and partner relationships for HP’s computer systems business.

With a decisive yet supportive leadership style, Goodwin has earned a reputation for collaboration and team-building, openness, consistent execution, and results. He believes in forging strong relationships and traveling extensively to meet with people, listen, and cultivate those relationships.

Goodwin earned a B.S. in Economics and Marketing, with honors, from Central Michigan University, an M.B.A. with a concentration in Finance from Wayne State University, and an honorary doctorate in Commercial Science from Central Michigan University. He also has completed the University of Michigan Executive Program. He enjoys spending time with his family, reading, skiing, and running.
