He has been working with security roadmapping and research in connection with the EU IST Framework programme 6 (Roadmap for Advanced Research in Privacy & Identity management) and as member of the Advisory Board of EU ICT Security & Dependability Taskforce working on the foundation of post 2010 security research. In addition he is involved with planning of the EU i2010 programme on security.
He has been lecturing on consumer loyalty since 1996 and increasingly in a range of security and trust related topics. He is author of multiple papers, articles, books, and has been invited to talk on issues related to security and privacy in the Integrated Networked Economy.
Stephan J. Engberg represented End-users at Final roundtable at the OECD Global Forum on Information Security in Oslo. He participated in the Vendor Panel of Privacy Enhancing Technologies at the EU PET Workshop. He is also a member of the Intl. Advisory Board of Privacy International and the Board of the Danish chapter of Internet Society - ISOC.
He is a serial entrepreneur, lately as founder of Priway (www.priway.com) and the spin-off RFIDSec (www.rfidsec.com) which is based on security inventions eliminating or effectively reducing the complex clashes between security, privacy, convenience and efficiency in RFID, identity management and eGovernment.
He has also had prior experience in working for corporate organizations. He has spent 9 years in banking, 3 years as an entrepreneur in optical telecommunications and executive management consulting in CRM and eBusiness strategy.
Stephan Engberg holds a M.Sc. in Business Administration and Computer Science from Copenhagen Business School combined with studying innovation and international strategy at London Business School.
