Digital Content Management

The Cisco Digital Content Manager (DCM), ROSA Network and Video Service Management and ROSA Element Manager were configured to show program switching between local and national feeds, and an example of Emergency Alert System text crawl insertion onto a digital MPEG-2 program. Management of the overall solution was performed by ROSA network management.

ROSA VSM: Video Services Manager

Cisco ROSA video service manager (VSM) monitors, manages, and controls equipment and services for end-to-end video network management of digital platforms. This demonstration focuses on the newest addition to the ROSA network management product line, the Cisco ROSA VSM, and how it changes the network management perspective from equipment-centric to a services-centric solution. Cisco VSM helps service providers reduce the complexity of the end-to-end network and increase network reliability, while decreasing operational expenses.

Developed for primary distribution, private networks, and SMATV applications, the Cisco D9865 Satellite Receiver decodes MPEG-2/MPEG-4 AVC SD/HD and supports DVB-S/S2 demodulation.
