First medianet project enables performance monitoring, helping to meet service-level agreements.

Cisco IT is preparing to support 32,000 video endpoints by 2012. This case study describes how Cisco IT is implementing a medianet architecture to overcome the challenges of provisioning, troubleshooting, and planning capacity for tens of thousands of video endpoints. Cisco IT has already implemented the Cisco IOS™ Software Performance Monitoring capabilities on the routers in teleworkers’ homes, helping to meet service-level agreements (SLAs) while keeping operational costs down. The company is also in various stages of planning or implementing other Cisco® medianet technologies, including mediatrace and autoconfiguration.
