Supplemental Information
Net income for fiscal 2006 included stock-based compensation expense under Statement of Financial Accounting Standards No. 123 (revised 2004), “Share-Based Payment,” (“SFAS 123(R)”) of $836 million, net of tax, which consisted of stock-based compensation expense of $756 million, net of tax, related to employee stock options and employee stock purchases and stock-based compensation expense of $80 million, net of tax, related to acquisitions and investments. Net income for fiscal 2005 and fiscal 2004 included stock-based compensation expense of $149 million and $241 million, respectively, net of tax, related to acquisitions and investments. There was no stock-based compensation expense related to employee stock options and employee stock purchases under Statement of Financial Accounting Standards No. 123, “Accounting for Stock-Based Compensation” (“SFAS 123”), in fiscal 2005 and fiscal 2004 because the Company did not adopt the recognition provisions of SFAS 123. Net income including pro forma stock-based compensation expense as previously disclosed in the notes to the Consolidated Financial Statements for fiscal 2005 and fiscal 2004 was $4.7 billion or $0.71 per diluted share, and $3.2 billion or $0.45 per diluted share, respectively.
