Einführung

RSS (Abkürzung für Really Simple Syndication) ist ein XML-basiertes Nachrichtenformat, das dem Nutzer ermöglicht, die Inhalte einer Webseite – oder Teile davon – als sogenannte RSS-Feeds zu abonnieren oder in andere Webseiten zu integrieren.

Die Abgrenzung zum normalen Webbrowser besteht darin, dass aktuelle Nachrichten automatisch geladen werden, wenn ein Kanal (Feed) einmal abonniert ist. Die Inhalte eines Feeds variieren abhängig von Quelle und Art der Informationen. Üblicherweise enthalten Sie Überschriften und einen Link zum vollständigen Artikel auf Cisco.de

Wie abonniere ich einen RSS-Feed

Um Inhalte einer Webseite als RSS-Feed nutzen zu können, benötigen Sie einen sogenannten "Feed-Reader". In aktuellen Browsern (Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer 7, usw.) ist dieser bereits integriert und RSS-Feeds lassen sich somit ganz einfach innerhalb des Browsers nutzen. Zudem existieren auf dem Markt eine Reihe von Programmen, Erweiterungen für Mail-Programme und webbasierte Applikationen.

Die RSS-Feeds auf Cisco.de erkennen Sie am RSS-Icon
Um den RSS-Feed zu abonnieren, klicken Sie auf das Icon, sofern Ihr Browser eine entsprechende Unterstützung bietet. Alternativ klicken Sie mit der rechen Maustaste, kopieren die URL und fügen diese in Ihrem Feed-Reader ein.
