Cisco and Tata Communications Choreograph Dancers' Reunion over TelePresence

Young Shanghai Dancers, in New York for National Dance Institute Performance, Share Experiences With Relatives Back Home

SHANGHAI, China. 27 July, 2010 – Earlier this month, Cisco TelePresence™ equipment enabled the first virtual dance rehearsal of young dancers of the Children's Palace in Shanghai and their counterparts from National Dance Institute (NDI) in New York. These talented children began preparations for their joint performance from opposite sides of the world using Cisco's high-definition, video collaboration technology. Today having performed with more than 100 children from NDI in New York, these young performers, “The Shanghai Five,” will reunite with their loved ones back home who are beaming in from the Cisco® Pavilion at World Expo over Tata's global TelePresence network.

Cisco Launches Initiative to Reunite Chinese Families over Cisco TelePresence

Shanghai – 5 July, 2010 – Cisco has launched an initiative to reunite Chinese families virtually with relatives overseas via Cisco TelePresence, in collaboration with Tata Communications. The selected families will travel as guests of Cisco and Tata Communications to the Cisco Pavilion at World Expo in Shanghai and will connect with their loved ones over Tata Communications' global TelePresence network.

Young Dancers in Shanghai and New York Prepare for Joint Production Over Cisco's High-Definition, Real-Time Video Solution

SHANGHAI, China – July 2, 2010 – In another demonstration of the real-time collaborative nature of telepresence technology, young dancers in Shanghai and New York prepared for a National Dance Institute production over Cisco TelePresence™. The production of "The Red Thread," choreographed by Dou Dou Huang, the highly esteemed dancer and choreographer from Zhejiang province in China, and Ellen Weinstein, the NDI's artistic director, will be performed in New York and Connecticut during July with dancers from both NDI and Shanghai Children's Palace.

Cisco Pavilion at World Expo 2010 Showcases Future of City Management

SHANGHAI, China – May 17, 2010 – Cisco held its first session for members of the press at its pavilion at World Expo 2010. Besides being the senior sponsor of networking systems and solutions for World Expo, Cisco is also the only global information technology company with its own corporate pavilion.

At the first media day at the Cisco Pavilion, Cisco executives Rob Lloyd, executive vice president of Worldwide Operations, and Owen Chan, president and CEO of Greater China, took the press through Cisco' s vision for the Smart+Connected Life in the year 2020. This vision is based on Cisco' s Smart+Connected Communities initiative, a platform over which governments and city planners can build the sustainable city of the future.

Cisco Signs Participation Agreement with 2010 Shanghai World Expo to Build a Cisco Corporate Pavilion

Cisco Pavilion to Showcase Smart+Connected Life in 2020

SHANGHAI, China, Oct. 20, 2009 – Cisco signed a participation agreement today with the organizers of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo that is scheduled to be held from May 1st to Oct. 31st in 2010. According to the agreement, Cisco will develop a corporate pavilion where visitors will have the opportunity to see life in a city of the year 2020, with all the advantages of new technology. Cisco will showcase its Smart+Connected Life concept from the perspective of visitors' personal experiences.

Better City, Better Life: Cisco Showcases Smart+Connected Communities at World Expo 2010 in Shanghai

Besides the FIFA World Cup in June, there's another global event taking place which is expected to attact the attention of millions. That event is World Expo 2010 in the city of Shanghai in China.

Running from May 1, to October 31, 2010, 70 million people are expected to attend the six month long fair.
