Cisco Access Router Manager 1.1 Ordering Guide
The Cisco Access Router Manager is the Cisco Element Management System for FCAPS (Fault, Configuration, Accounting, Performance and Security) management of Cisco 2600 series, 3600 series, and 3700 series routers. For more information, http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/netmgtsw/ps260/index.html
The Cisco Access Router Manager comprises:
•
The Right To Use (RTU) License.
This is a legal document that entitles you to manage the Cisco 2600 series, 3600 series, and 3700 series routers. One RTU is needed per managed chassis.

The software CDs or "Media Kit".
This is Cisco Access Router Manager Software and includes all the software and user documentation needed to manage the Cisco 2600 series, 3600 series, and 3700 series routers. Only one Media Kit is needed for each management server.

The Software Application Support (SAS)
This provides software support and software upgrades for the Cisco Access Router Manager. One SAS is needed per RTU, i.e., one per managed router.

The software license key.
The Cisco Access Router Manager needs a valid License Key to operate. Only one license is needed for each management server (Sun workstation).
How do I Order it? How Many do I Buy? RTUOrdering RTUs with Router Hardware:
The Dynamic Configuration Toolkit can be used when ordering the routers and the RTUs to ensure the correct configuration is used. Go to http://www.cisco.com/en/US/ordering/index.shtml and log in using a Cisco.com Password and select "Dynamic Configuration Tool". Use this tool to configure your order for the router hardware and the EMS RTU. Once the configuration has been completed, it should be saved using the "Save Configuration" button. To order this configuration go to:

Import the saved configuration into the ordering tool using the "Get Saved Config" button. If required, add the media kit and software application support (SAS) as described in the "media kit" and "SAS" sections below. Complete order with shipping details etc as required.Note: The Part number that will be visible in the order form should be EMS-ARM-1.1-LIC to manage any 2600 series, 3600 series, or 3700 series routers.
Ordering RTUs after Router Hardware:
RTUs can be ordered directly using the Cisco on-line
Ordering Tool. To order this configuration Go to:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/ordering/index.shtml and log in using a Cisco.com password and select "Ordering Tool". Input the appropriate part number:EMS-ARM-1.1-LIC=
If required, add the media kit and software application support (SAS) as described in the "media kit" and "SAS" sections below.
Complete order with shipping details etc.
Note: The RTU is different for different software versions of the EMS. Please refer to the table below for the correct product code/part number.
One RTU must be purchased for every managed 2600 series, 3600 series, or 3700 series router. For example, to manage 25 2651XM Routes and 40 3745 Routers, then 65 RTUs must be ordered.
Media KitThe Media Kit can be ordered directly using the Cisco on-line Ordering Tool. To order this configuration Go to:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/ordering/index.shtml and log in using a Cisco.com password and select "Ordering Tool". Input the part number EMS-ARM-1.1-KIT. (Note the same part number regardless of 2600series, 3600 series and/or 3700 series routers being managed). Complete order with shipping details etc.Only one Media Kit is needed for each management server.
SASThe SAS agreement can be ordered directly using the Cisco on-line Ordering Tool. To order this configuration Go to:

Complete order with shipping details etc.One SAS agreement must be purchased for every managed 2600 series, 3600 series, or 3700 series router. For example, to manage 25 2651XM Routes and 40 3745 Routers, then 65 SAS agreements must be ordered.
License KeyThe License Key can only be requested when the software is installed on the Sun management workstation. Once the Hostname and HostID of the management workstation is known, the License Key can be ordered at:

Only one License Key is needed for each management server.
Upgrading from earlier version to Release 1.1
If you want to upgrade to a new software release, upgrade RTUs must be ordered as well as the Media Kit. To do this, follow the above instructions for ordering an RTU with the (upgrade) part numbers EMS-ARM-1.1-LICU. Order the new Media Kit using the Cisco on-line Ordering Tool as described above with the new release part number (i.e., EMS-ARM-1.1-KIT)
Ordering previous versions
If you do not want to upgrade to release 1.1 (although we strongly recommend this), Cisco Access Router Manager 1.0 will only be orderable for a short period following the availability of release 1.1. The To order Cisco ARM 1.0, the procedures are as above, but with the following product codes:
Ordering Demo Software
Demo software can be ordered using the Ordering Tool with part number EMS-ARM-D= this includes all the software and a temporary 30-day software license key. No RTU is needed to use this Demo software.
Supported Devices and Versions

Standby Server
An additional Media Kit can be ordered and installed on a standby system for manual failover. As Licensing is on a per server basis, an additional software license key will be needed. This license key can be ordered in the usual way as described above.

Cisco Element Manager logical licensing is enabled and controlled according to the host name and host identifier of the Sun hardware it is installed on as a management server. Upon initial installation, the software runs on a temporary 30-day license. Customers ordering EMS-ARM-1.1-KIT with managed node licenses can download permanent Cisco Element Manager licenses via Cisco.com using a Product Authorization Key (PAK) shipped with the Access Router Manager package by following the steps below.
Up to 50 concurrent users can be supported by installing at least one presentation server (client) system for every 10-user sessions (the client software required is included in EMS-ARM-1.1-KIT, and it does not require any additional licensing)
Customers ordering EMS-ARM-D= may evaluate the Cisco Access Router Manager for 30 days free of charge.
To request the required permanent license key file, you must do the following:

From the table under heading Network Mgt Products there is a subheading Cisco Element Management Framework to the right select "CEMF Product License"

Now complete CEMF Product License request form.
•
Fill in all required fields (denoted by an asterisk) in the Contact Information section of the License request form that will require inputting the PAK number. If you are a reseller ordering licenses for a customer, please note the final end user in the order and license request.
•
Note: As the permanent license key is returned to you by email as an attached file, it is imperative that you provide your correct email address.
•
Select the version of the CEMF (not the version of the EMS) in the Version number field.
•
If it was not automatically filled in for you when you filled in the Contact Information, specify the Product Authorization Key (PAK) number. The PAK is provided on the CEMF product CD sleeve and shipping carton.
•
Specify the hostname of the server where the CEMF product is installed. You can obtain the server's hostname by typing the hostname command at the CEMF server's command line prompt.
•
Specify the host ID (a hexadecimal string that starts with "8", that identifies the system; this is not the IP address) of the server where the CEMF product is installed. You can obtain the server's host ID by typing the hostid command at the CEMF server's command line prompt.
•
Please also provide answers to the questions at the end of the form, and then click on the Enter Form button. The License Request form is submitted. The CEMF permanent license key file is returned to you as an email attachment.
•
Go to the "Updating a CEMF License" section in "Installation, Configuration, and licensing "documentation for instructions on how to replace a temporary license with the permanent license.
•
Once CEMF has been upgraded to use a permanent license key, the software will continue to run without the need for any further licensing changes.
