Cisco 1720/1751 with ADSL WAN Interface Card:

The Cisco 1720 and Cisco 1751 Modular Access Routers with the ADSL WAN interface card (WIC) delivers business class broadband service with voice integration, scalable performance, flexibility, and security for small and medium-sized businesses and small branch offices.

Together with the asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) WIC, it is the perfect solution for businesses that require business class DSL access on a secure, modular platform and designed and priced for small-medium businesses (SMBs) and small branch offices (SBOs).

The one-port ADSL WIC, which fits in to any of the VIC/WIC slots on the Cisco 1720 and 1751, provides both plain old telephone service (POTS) and ADSL high-speed digital data transmissions between the customer premise equipment (CPE) and the central office (CO). The dual WIC slots for WAN ports, along with the optional hardware-based encryption, provide customers with the modularity and mission critical reliability that is essential for SMBs and SBOs.

After September 30, 2001, Cisco will no longer accept orders for the Cisco 1401 router, the Cisco 1400 Series Memory Options, the Cisco 1400 Series Software, the Cisco 1400 IOS Upgrade Licenses, and the Cisco 1400 Feature Packs.

Last Shipment Date: December 31, 2001

Last Date of Hardware Support: September 30, 2003

As of September 30, 2003, Cisco will no longer make changes to the hardware for defects in the design of the hardware.

Last Date of Software Support: September 30, 2004

As of September 30, 2004, Cisco will no longer provide fixes for defects in the Software.

Last Date of Support (no more RMA): September 30, 2006

As of September 30, 2006, Cisco will no longer take technical support calls or provide replacement product for failed products in the field - no more RMA's (return of material authorization) will be accepted and all support for the Cisco 1401 discontinues as of September 30, 2006.

Expiration Date for (renewed) Contracts: September 30, 2006

The contract for the product can be renewed within the 12 months prior to September 30, 2006, but the renewal period will only go up to September 30, 2006 and the renewal price will be pro-rated accordingly. After September 30, 2006, the product will expire from the renewed contract.
