Update Firmware : Update Firmware From File Server

Use this page to update firmware via your file server. After making firmware updates on this page, the device automatically reboots to activate the new firmware.

Note The access point only updates the radio firmware if the radio firmware version to be loaded is newer than the firmware in the radio.

Settings

Current Firmware Versions

This section shows three current firmware version levels:

  • System Firmware
  • Web Page
  • Radio Firmware

Click the underlined Current Version links to save the current firmware and Web Pages to a local hard drive or disk.

New Firmware Files

Use this section to browse your hard drive or mapped network drives to find the desired new files. After you enter filenames for the firmware to be updated, click Browser Update Now.

  • New File for System Firmware
  • New File for Web Pages
  • New File for Radio Firmware

File Server Setup

This link takes you to the FTP Setup page.

Action Buttons

Command

Description

Update from Server

After entering file names for the firmware you want to update, click Update From Server to load and install the new firmware. When the update is complete, the device automatically reboots.

Save to Server

Click this button to save the system firmware and web pages to your server.

Done

This button sends you back to the Cisco Services Setup page after updates and saves are complete.

Cancel

This button cancels all changes to the settings, returns the settings to the previously stored values, and redirects the user back to the Cisco Services Setup page.
