Cisco Virtual Pod is a software-only solution. Each Cisco Virtual Pod component is deployed as a virtual machine, and each virtual machine has specific requirements:
Virtual spine (vSpine)
- Hypervisor requirement: ESXi 6.0 or later
- Virtual machine resources: 2 vCPU, 8 GB RAM, 80 GB storage
Virtual leaf (vLeaf)
- Hypervisor requirement: ESXi 6.0 or later

Cisco ACI virtual edge (AVE)
