Introduction
This document provides information on how to use the Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) Synchronization process to import an accountActions.csv file into the Cisco Secure ACS Solution Engine (ACS SE) version 3.2. This feature uses a comma-separated value (CSV) file named "accountActions" as input for automated or manual updates of the Cisco Secure user database. For more information about the RDBMS Synchronization feature and accountActions, refer to RDBMS Synchronization Import Definitions and the RDBMS Synchronization section of System Configuration: Advanced.
Prerequisites
Requirements
The instructions in this document require these conditions:
-
The Cisco Secure ACS SE must have network connectivity to your network FTP server.
-
The accountActions.csv file must be formatted properly. For further information on the correct format, refer to the accountActions Format section of RDBMS Synchronization Import Definitions.
In the accountActions.csv file used in this example, one of the names of the default groups on the ACS SE is changed from "Group 5" to "ACSSEGRP."
-
The accountActions.csv file must be available on an FTP server, in an appropriate directory, as per the configuration of the FTP server software.
Components Used
The information in this document is based on these software and hardware versions:
-
Cisco Secure ACS SE version 3.2.1
-
UNIX FTP server
-
accountActions.csv file located in /usr/nr/tmp
The information in this document was created from the devices in a specific lab environment. All of the devices used in this document started with a cleared (default) configuration. If your network is live, make sure that you understand the potential impact of any command.

Import the CSV File
Complete these steps.
-
In the ACS SE, browse to System Configuration > RDBMS Synchronization.
-
Type your FTP Setup parameters in the Account Actions Download section.
The settings used in this example are:
-
Actions File: accountActions.csv
-
FTP Server: bundy.cisco.com
-
Directory: tmp
-

-
Password: myftpserverpass
-
-
In the Synchronization Partners section, specify the ACSSE and ensure that you have moved it from the AAA Server column to the Synchronize column.
-
Click Synchronize Now. The ACSSE screen flashes and brings you back to the main System Configuration page when the import process is complete.
Verify and Troubleshoot
There might be an issue with the .csv file if you receive this error message: Sync complete with no transactions performed. In order to resolve this issue, refer to RDBMS Synchronization Import Definitions.
In order to verify that you have imported the file successfully, browse to Reports and Activity > RDBMS Synchronization. Click RDBMS Synchronization.csv. This message appears:
Verify that you have the accountActions.csv file in the correct directory on the FTP server. If the file is not in the correct directory, this message appears:
