    Introduction

This document describes the connectionsToStore parameter, which the tserver.properties file defines in a Cisco E-Mail Manager environment.

For more information on document conventions, see the Conventions Used in Cisco Technical Tips.

    Q. What does the connectionsToStore parameter in the tserver.properties file mean?

    A. The tserver.properties file defines the connectionsToStore parameter. You can find the tserver.properties file in this path (see Figure 1):

    c:\Program Files\Cisco\E-Mail Manager\Instances\<inst>\transact

Note: "c" represents the drive letter where Cisco E-Mail Manager resides in your environment.

The connectionsToStore parameter represents the number of database connections to open. The default value of this parameter is 7 (see Figure 2).

Under heavy load, agents cannot log into Cisco Agent Desktop. The UI Server Error Log shows an unexpected TServer error, with Result Code 211. This error means there are no more available databases.

The solution is to increase the number of database connections that TServer can use. Complete these steps:

Note: The number you specify depends on the number of database licenses you have purchased.

    1. Open tserver.properties .

    2. Edit the value of the connectionsToStore property. Cisco recommends that you increase the default value to 12.

    3. Save the file.

    4. Restart Cisco E-Mail Manager Core Server and Instance processes (see Figure 3).
