End-of-Life Announcement for the
CiscoWorks LAN Management Solution 1.X

Cisco Systems^® announces the end of life of the CiscoWorks LAN Management Solution (LMS) 1.0 software and related 1.X maintenance releases. The last day to order LMS 1.0 was on May 1, 2001. Cisco^® recognizes the popularity of the LMS 1.X product and plans to make important update releases available for an extended period of time, while encouraging all customers to upgrade to the LMS 2.x product release train prior to the end-of-support period for LMS 1.X. Customers with appropriate service contracts will continue to have access to online updates posted on Cisco's Software Center download site, and receive support for LMS 1.X from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until May 1, 2004. All LMS 1.X customers are encouraged to migrate to the latest CiscoWorks LMS software release, which provides enhanced device support, new application features (including device fault management), and updated third-party operating system and client browser support. Read Table 1 for the milestones and effective dates of this end-of-life notice. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.

At the time of this posting, LMS 2.2 is the recommended migration path for LMS 1.X customers to use. Table 3 provides details on migration options consistent with LMS 2.2. Table 1 End-of-Life Milestones and Dates for CiscoWorks LMS 1.X

Milestone	Definition	Date
End-of-sale date	The last date to order the product through Cisco point-of-sale mechanisms. The product is no longer for sale after this date.	May 1, 2001
Last shipment date	The last-possible ship date that can be requested of Cisco and/or its contract manufacturers. Actual ship date is dependent on lead-time.	August 1, 2001
End of software maintenance releases date	The last date that Cisco Engineering may release any final software maintenance releases or bug fixes. After this date, Cisco Engineering will no longer develop, repair, maintain, or test the product software.	May 1, 2002
End of service contract renewal date	The last date to extend or renew a service contract for the product. The extension or renewal period cannot extend beyond the last date of support.	May 1, 2003
Last date of support	The last date to receive service and support for the product. After this date, all support services for the product are unavailable, and the product becomes obsolete.	May 1, 2004
