Features and Capabilities

With its Application Visibility and Control Engine, the Cisco Web Security Appliance gives administrators granular control of hundreds of thousands of micro-applications on Facebook and Twitter, as well as many other popular platforms and streaming media. Without blocking entire websites, administrators can allow or block specific features such as chat, messaging, video, and audio.

Software-as-a-service (SaaS)-based access control helps to improve the experience for users and administrators. Users can access all their SaaS applications with a single login from their desktop, laptop, or smartphone. Administrators can revoke access to SaaS applications from a single source, making employee transitions easy to administer.

Administrators can easily view trends in their network with real-time web reporting and tracking right on the box. The Cisco Web Security Appliance is a single platform for administrators to set security policy, control applications at a granular level, and get visibility into web traffic trends.
