The recommended upgrade path for the FDDI is Gigabit Ethernet. These interfaces offer greater performance at a comparable price point. 32-bit, 33-MHz Gigabit Ethernet interfaces are supported in the PIX 520 and 525 just as FDDI. In addition, the PIX 535 uses a higher-performance 64-bit, 66-MHz Gigabit Ethernet interface, providing up to 1 Gbps of throughput.
Support
Cisco will continue to provide support through the SMARTnet™ service program. Customers with SMARTnet service contracts are entitled to 24-hour phone support through the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) and advance replacement of hardware. Cisco is committed to providing hardware support for this product for a period of five years after the end-of-sale date.End-of-Sale Schedule
