Introduction

This Product Bulletin describes Cisco IOS® Software Release 12.2(8)YJ and should be used in conjunction with Product Bulletin #XXX Cisco IOS Software Release Process.

New Features

Low-Latency Queuing in the non-plus images: Cisco 826, Cisco 827, Cisco 827H, Cisco 827-4V, and Cisco 828

Low-latency queuing (LLQ) is a key feature for creating prioritization of traffic received on a high-speed interface that is routed on a lower-speed interface. The queuing supports real-time traffic and can be used to offer bandwidth guarantees. Before this, release only the Plus images offered LLQ. This release provides this feature on the non-plus images to provide even more value for all users as more real-time applications can be accessed by more users.

Easy VPN Phase II: Cisco 806, Cisco 826, Cisco 827, Cisco 827H, Cisco 827-4V, and Cisco 828

Easy VPN Phase II completes the Easy VPN solution for clients, making easy-to-use VPN connections possible forCisco VPN 3000 concentrators, as well as Easy VPN-enabled Cisco 1700 series routers or the Cisco PIX® Firewall with the Easy VPN server side support.

Release Information

12.2(8)YJ is an Early Deployment (ED) release. This release delivers new features for Cisco 806, Cisco 826, Cisco 827, Cisco 827H, Cisco 827-4V, and Cisco 828 broadband routers.

Cisco IOS Release 12.2(8)YJ will be sold until the Cisco IOS Release 12.2(1x)T (x=to be determined) is released in Q1 CY 2003, covering the same features.
