Memory
The Cisco 820 series platforms use an architecture that utilizes onboard Flash memory, not only to store Cisco IOS images but also to store ROMMON, and non-volatile memory to store the configurations. This memory, not available for storing Cisco IOS images in the flash file system, was previously counted when Flash requirements were documented in the product collateral, however,
we will no longer include this in our memory calculations. As a result, images will claim to need 8 MB of Flash instead of the
12 MB previously quoted. The 8 MB is what is reported by IOS as being available in the Flash file system of the default platform configurations.Life Span
