End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for the Early Deployment Cisco IOS Software Releases 12.1EX of the Cisco 7304 Router
Cisco Systems® announces the end of life of the Cisco IOS® Software releases 12.1EX of the Cisco® 7304 Router. The last day to order the 12.1EX releases is September 1, 2004. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until Feb 1, 2005. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(20)S or later on the Cisco 7304 platform, with new features and enhanced after-sale support. Information about Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(20)S support can be found at:

Product Migration Options
The recommended replacement for Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1(12)EX and Release 12.1(13)EX is Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2(20)S (Table 3). Cisco IOS Software Release 12.2S or later is the recommended release for all customers interested in new features Release 12.2S has feature parity to Release 12.1(14)E. For Cisco 7304 customers deploying Release 12.1Ex today, all features are supported in Release 12.2(20)S or later.
