End-of-Sale Notice for Cisco 7200 VPN K8 Bundles
and T3 VPN BundleThe Cisco 7200 Series VPN bundles offer specific hardware configurations that are optimized for site-to-site VPN applications and network topologies, while simultaneously setting the benchmark for hardware configuration flexibility, upgradability, and investment protection. These VPN bundles are of two types: K8 and K9. K8 VPN bundles support cryptographic keys less than 64 bits in size and K9 bundles support keys that are greater than or equal to 64 bits.
The easing of U.S. import and export restrictions in most countries of cryptographic devices with keys greater than 64 bits have enabled customers to select TripleData Encryption Standard (3DES) (K9) VPN bundles over DES (K8) bundles. The Cisco 7200 K9 bundles are more popular with customers than the K8 bundles. Therefore, Cisco announces the end of sale of only those Cisco 7200 VPN bundles with the K8 designator. The Cisco 7200 K9 VPN bundles will continue to be available.
Furthermore, Cisco announces the end of sale of Cisco 7200 VPN bundles that contain the PA-T3+ port adapter. The following table lists the end-of-sale products and corresponding product substitutions.
