GBIC Product Code Transition
Cisco Systems® is migrating the Cisco® 6400 Series Broadband Aggregator Gigabit Interface Converter (GBIC) product codes to standard Cisco product codes. There is no change in functionality, compatibility, or compliance because the physical hardware will remain the same. Only the product code will change.
Product Code Transition Matrix
Table 1 details the new product codes that will be available for purchase on the Cisco 6400 Series. Beginning May 31, 2003, the former product codes (listed in the first column of Table 1) will no longer be available. The Cisco Ordering Tool will be updated automatically to reflect this transition—no special action is required when placing an order.
