End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for the Cisco NM-1CE1B, NM-1CE1U, NM-2CE1B, and NM-2CE1U Network Modules.
Cisco Systems® announces the end of life of the Cisco® NM-1CE1B, NM-1CE1U,
NM-2CE1B, and NM-2CE1U Network Modules. The last day to order the Cisco
NM-1CE1B, NM-1CE1U, NM-2CE1B, and NM-2CE1U Network Modules is December 17, 20041. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until December 17, 20091. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco NM-1CE1B, NM-1CE1U, NM-2CE1B, and NM-2CE1U Network Modules. Table 2 provides a listing of product part numbers affected by this announcement.Customers are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco NM-1CE1T1-PRI and NM-2CE1T1-PRI Network Modules, which provide all the functions of the end-of-sale network modules plus the flexibility to configure between varieties of operating modes (T1/E1, CSU/DSU, balanced/unbalanced, and so on) within a single network module. Table 3 provides relevant information for migrating from the Cisco NM-1CE1B, NM-1CE1U, NM-2CE1B, and NM-2CE1U Network Modules to the Cisco NM-1CE1T1-PRI and NM-2CE1T1-PRI Network Modules.

Product Migration Options
The recommended replacement for the Cisco NM-1CE1B, NM-1CE1U, NM-2CE1B, and NM-2CE1U Network Modules are the NM-1CE1T1-PRI and NM-2CE1T1-PRI Network Modules (Table 3). The Cisco E1/T1 ISDN PRI network modules (NM-xCE1T1-PRI) are software configurable between E1 or T1 operation, balanced or unbalanced E1 termination, and CSU/DSU. Customers no longer need to buy a specific module for T1 support and another card for E1 connectivity. In addition, the same modules provide for balanced (120 ohms) and unbalanced (75 ohms) E1 termination. A cable adapter is available to adapt the card to your environment.
Customers can use the Cisco Technology Migration Plan (TMP) to trade in products and receive credit toward the purchase of new Cisco equipment. For more information about Cisco TMP, go to:

The Cisco TMP application requires all users to have a Cisco.com user ID.
Customers may be able to continue to purchase Cisco NM-1CE1B, NM-1CE1U, NM-2CE1B, and NM-2CE1U Network Modules through the Cisco Authorized Refurbished Equipment program. Refurbished units of the Cisco NM-1CE1B, NM-1CE1U, NM-2CE1B, and NM-2CE1U Network Modules are available in limited supply for sale in certain countries on a first-come, first-served basis.
