Cisco IOS 12.3 Mainline and 12.3T Feature Sets for Cisco 2610XM, 2611XM, 2620XM, 2621XM, 2650XM, 2651XM
This Product Bulletin details changes to the IOS software packaging for Cisco 2600XM Routers. It introduces eight new cross-platform feature sets in Cisco IOS 12.3 Mainline and 12.3T. In addition, this is an End-of-Sales notification for a number of feature sets.
Note: This Product Bulletin covers the packaging of functionality into feature sets. It does not cover individual new features. For information about new features in Cisco IOS 12.3 Mainline and 12.3T, refer to the Cisco IOS software pages on cisco.com.
Overview
During the course of Cisco IOS releases 12.3 Mainline and 12.3T, the Cisco 2600XM platforms will migrate to Cisco's eight new cross-platform feature sets. The feature sets are introduced as an alternative to classic feature sets in Cisco IOS 12.3 Mainline. Customers deploying Cisco IOS 12.3 Mainline are encouraged to migrate to the cross-platform feature sets, but it is optional. Customers planning or expecting deployment of new features in Cisco IOS 12.3T are strongly encouraged to understand and evaluate the new cross-platform feature sets as they will be the vehicles for new feature delivery. Starting in Cisco IOS 12.3T, the cross-platform feature sets will replace the classic feature sets.

The following Cisco IOS 12.3 Mainline Feature Sets will be available for the Cisco 2610XM, 2611XM, 2620XM, 2621XM, 2650XM, 2651XM Routers.

End-of-Sales feature sets in Cisco IOS 12.3 Mainline and suggested migration paths
The table below lists Cisco IOS feature sets that will be discontinued in Cisco IOS 12.3 Mainline, and suggested migration paths. It should be noted that other active release trains continue to issue maintenance releases of these feature sets. The End-of-Sales applies only to Cisco IOS 12.3 Mainline and subsequent 12.3T release trains.
SmartNet and other support contracts are transferable from an EoS image to any image suggested as a migration path.

Introduction of new Cisco IOS 12.3 Cross-Platform Feature Sets
The Cross-Platform Feature Sets are tailored to ease the choice of feature sets in a multi-platform environment. They are initially available for Cisco 1700, 2600XM, 2691, 3725 and 3745 Series Routers. They provide feature combinations based customer feedback. In addition, the Cross-Platform feature sets simplify the image selection process by providing similar functionality across platform boundaries.
