Introduction
This product bulletin covers the support and service options for the discontinued Cisco 2517, 2518 & 2519 router products. The last order date for the Cisco 2517, 2518 & 2519 will be December 31, 1997. This document includes information about which products are affected, availability and maintenance, as well as substitute products. The demand for the CISCO2517, CISCO2518, & CISCO2519 has declined significantly over the past year. It no longer makes sense to offer these products. While this document announces End-of-Sale of three specific, low-volume products, the Cisco 2500 Series continues to be the world's best selling router.

Product Support Entitlements
The CISCO2517, CISCO2518, & CISCO2519 came with a 90-days hardware and software warranty. Cisco will honor these original warranties, providing in-warranty hardware repair or replacement on a return-to-factory basis.
Product Substitution
Cisco does not have a single integrated Router & Token Ring hub solution to replace the CISCO2517 & CISCO2519. A multi-box solution is the only replacement. For the CISCO2518, both a CISCO2516 & a CISCO1516M can be used. See the table below for recommended substitutions:
