Product Bulletin No. 680
Default Flash Memory on the Cisco 2500 Series
Introduction
This product bulletin covers the increase in Default Flash Memory on the Cisco 2500 series and the New Memory Factory upgrade part numbers. Effective immediately, ALL Cisco 2500 series, except for the Mission-Specific routers (the FRADs - Frame Relay Access Devices), will ship with 8MB Flash memory as default for all IOS Releases. Prior to this announcement, 8MB Flash default was only true for IOS Release 11.2. This change is to simplify the ordering process and to allow customers to have potential future code growth.
There is no change to the default DRAM: Cisco will continue to ship the minimum necessary DRAM (4MB, 8MB, or 16MB) required by the software image being purchased. There is no change to the -CH products.
