Cisco IOS Software Default Image Changes to the Cisco 1700, Cisco 2600, and Cisco 3700 Series Access Routers
Effective February 23, 2004, Cisco® 1700, 2600, and 3700 series routers, including select bundles, will be offered with an updated default Cisco IOS® Software feature set and version. The new default feature sets will be based on the eight cross-platform feature sets introduced in 2003 with Cisco IOS Software Release 12.3.
Default Cisco IOS Software images are included with the router when a specific Cisco IOS feature set and version are not specified at the time of order. As always, customers can continue to order specific images and releases to meet their specific needs. In addition, some changes have been made to bundles offered within these product families. These changes may include new default images, releases, and in some cases hardware changes. Table 1 lists further information on changes to the product families.
Cisco Systems continues to strive for improvements that benefit customer needs and support for new service offerings. To provide the latest changes in software improvements and new features, default images are updated periodically. These changes are part of Cisco's continued effort to enhance the performance of these product families and to offer customers up-to-date software enhancements.
