Announcing Cisco ConfigMaker 2.5 Availability
Introduction
Cisco ConfigMaker 2.5 is the latest release of the easy-to-use Microsoft Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000, and Windows NT 4.0-based application that configures Cisco routers, switches, hubs, and other devices. Using a graphical user interface (GUI), you can draw your network and then Cisco ConfigMaker creates the Cisco IOS® configuration files for the devices on your network without requiring knowledge of the Cisco IOS command-line interface (CLI).
Key Features and Benefits of Cisco ConfigMaker Application:
- Set up an entire network of Cisco devices from a Windows PC
- Graphical user interface; no knowledge of Cisco CLI required
- Enables auto-delivery configuration to devices/network via console port or telnet session
- Allows you to auto-detect devices in your network
- Allows you to build logical representation of network topologies with point-and-click diagrams
- Supports popular Cisco products: Cisco 800, 1000, 1600, 1700, 2500, 2600, 3600, 4500, and 4700 series routers and Cisco 1500 hubs and switches
- Supports your data network to support the following features: Ethernet, Frame Relay, ISDN, Network protocols such as IP, IPX, AppleTalk, IPSec, IKE, Cisco IOS Firewall Feature Set, NAT, Cisco Easy IP, DHCP, WCCP, Voice over IP with QoS, Dial Backup
- Downloads configuration through a direct connection (console port) or over the LAN
- Graphical user interface; no knowledge of Cisco CLI required
- Eases difficult configurations such as Firewall and VPN by guiding users through a Wizard functionality
The new Cisco ConfigMaker 2.5 application includes:
- Configuration of Cisco 1751, Cisco 811, and Cisco 813
- Configuration of one-port Ethernet WAN interface card (WIC-1ENET), asymmetric digital subscriber line WIC (detection only) (WIC-1ADSL), voice interface cards VIC-(1BRI)-NT/TE and VIC-2FXO-M3
- Configuration of static routing (IP only)
- Security improvement; removal of default passwords
- Addition of sample configuration files of new supported hardware
