ONS 15801 622 Mbps
Transponders End-of-Life is justified mainly because they are superseded by the
introduction on ONS 15454 SDH that guarantees a most suitable solution for 622
Mbps transmission.

Migration Strategy
Customers having deployed ONS 15801 622Mbps Transponders have two
possible options:
1.
Place a last buy of transponders according End-of-Life plan described in
Par. 6-1.
2.
Use Cisco ONS 15454 Platform to aggregate 622 Mbps data stream into
2.5Gbps or 10Gbps signal that will be separately transported by ONS 15801
platform.

In any case it is guaranteed
that new sustaining releases of ONS15801 will manage these units.
