End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement for the Cisco ONS 15454 SONET R2.2.x Software

Cisco Systems® announces the end of life of software releases SONET versions R2.2.2 and 2.3.3 for the Cisco® ONS 15454 Multiservice Provisioning Platform. The last day to order the Cisco ONS 15454 software outlined in Table 2 is October 15, 2004. Customers will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until October 15, 2009. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the applicable Cisco ONS 15454 software.

Customers are encouraged to migrate to the later versions of Cisco ONS 15454 software as outlined in Table 3. Information about this product can be found at:

End-of-life announcement date	The date the document that announces the end of sale and end of life of a product is distributed to the general public.	April 15, 2004
End-of-sale date	The last date to order the product through Cisco point-of-sale mechanisms. The product is no longer for sale after this date.	October 15, 2004
Last shipment date	The last-possible ship date that can be requested of Cisco and/or its contract manufacturers. Actual ship date is dependent on lead-time.	January 15, 2005
End of software maintenance releases date	The last date that Cisco Engineering may release any final software maintenance releases or bug fixes. After this date, Cisco Engineering will no longer develop, repair, maintain, or test the product software.	October 15, 2005
Last date of support	The last date to receive service and support for the product. After this date, all support services for the product are unavailable, and the product becomes obsolete.	October 15, 2009

Product Migration Options

The recommended replacement for the Cisco ONS 15454 software affected by this announcement is outlined in Table 3. The recommended replacement software includes many new system capabilities, enhanced network security, and general code enhancements for improved software stability.
