Cisco Systems^® announces the CiscoView Device Manager for the Cisco^® Catalyst^® 6500 Series Switch, Cisco Content Switching Module (CSM), and Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series SSL Services Module (SSL SM). CiscoView Device Managers are three management applications embedded in these products to offer extensive GUI-based feature management within a single chassis.

Managing the Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Chassis

CiscoView Device Manager for the Catalyst 6500 Series manages several Layer 2 and Layer 3 features, including:

•Easy-to-use graphical interface for VLAN visualization, monitoring, and port setup

•Configuration based on templates and recommended practices to simplify the initial setup of services

•Comprehensive end-to-end services setup using a single tool

Managing the Cisco CSM and Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series SSL SM

CiscoView Device Manager for the CSM supports server load balancing configuration on the CSM, including:

•Configuring virtual servers

•Configuring server farms and attaching real servers to them

•Configuring client and server VLANs

•Configuring Layer 4 through Layer 7 policies, including maps and sticky groups

•Monitoring the health of servers

CiscoView Device Manager for the Catalyst 6500 Series SSL SM supports features in SSL SM versions 1.2 and 2.1, including:

•Configuring trust points, proxy services, certificate authority pools, and certificate access control lists

•Configuring Secure Sockets Layer, TCP, header insertion, and URL rewrite policies

•Showing TCP and SSL statistics

•Visually indicating expiring and missing configured certificates

•Grouping and sorting of the trust points by the certificate authority, enrollment status, and expiration date

Customers with Cisco Catalyst products may log in and download* the CiscoView Device Managers from the Cisco Software Center at:

All three CiscoView Device Managers will be available to download from http://www.cisco.com on May 31, 2004.

* The CiscoView Device Manager is offered at no charge. Customers may need to purchase additional supervisor engine memory to accommodate the 3-MB footprint required by CiscoView Device Manager.
