End-of-Sale and End-of-Life Announcement
of the Cisco 4430-B Content Router,
Part Number CR-4430-B
Cisco Systems announces the end of sale (EOS) end of life (EOL) for the Cisco 4430-B Content Router with part number CR-4430-B. This router will be replaced by the Cisco GSS 4480 Global Site Selector. Table 1 provides the respective part numbers, as well as key EOL milestones.
The first release of the Cisco GSS 4480 Global Site Selector will exclude some features of the Cisco 4430-B Content Router. These features include simulated annealing, Web Cache Communication Protocol (WCCP) support, and the winners database. Customers that need these features should contact Lance McCallum (email@example.com), the Cisco GSS 4480 Product Manager.

Content Routers Not Affected
This bulletin does not affect the Cisco 4430 Content Router with part number CR-4430 or Cisco 4450 Content Router. Cisco will continue selling these content routers.
The EOL of the Cisco CR-4430-B will be announced in e-mail to the Cisco sales team in September 2002.
The EOL of the Cisco CR-4430-B will be announced in e-mail to the Cisco channel sales representatives and to the field in September 2002. The following will be notified:
emea-all-sales; real-sales-usa; us-sp-sales-all; sales-americas; apac-all-sales; latin-america; cdn-all; ap-cn; channel-cdn; cs-cdn; fsat-cdn; sevt-cn-all.
The end of production occurs in September 2002.
The end of support will be announced in September 2005.
Date for Discontinuing Contract Renewals
Contract renewals will be discontinued in September 2007 (EOS [September 2002] + 4.5 years).
The Cisco 4430 Content Router with part number CR-4430-B will be declared obsolete in March 2008.
