Cisco LocalDirector requires minimal setup and no network address changes, making administration simple and cost effective.
Release notes for Cisco LocalDirector 416 software are available at http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/iaabu/localdir/index.htm.
Replacement Product Information
Available now, the recommended replacement for Cisco LocalDirector 416 is Cisco LocalDirector 417, LocalDirector 417G, or the Cisco CSS 11000 Series Content Services Switches. Cisco LocalDirector 417 and 417G offer identical software features as Cisco LocalDirector 416 at higher performance. Also for higher performance, the Cisco CSS 11000 offers the WebNS feature set, which is not available in Cisco LocalDirector 416. The following table lists the recommended replacement product numbers.
Note that some Cisco LocalDirector 416 features are not currently supported on the WebNS-based Cisco CSS 11050 and 11150 Series. Examples of unsupported features include Layer 5 stateful failover, Dynamic Feedback Protocol (DFP) and multinode load balancing (MNLB). If you require these features, you should migrate to Cisco LocalDirector 417 or 417G, not the Cisco CSS platforms.
Ordering Information
After March 15, 2002 all orders for the end-of-sales products listed above should be replaced by the corresponding replacement products.
