Cisco® announces the end-of-sale and end-of life dates for the Cisco IPS Event Viewer (IEV). The last day to download the affected product(s) is December 31, 2008. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product(s). Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to Cisco IPS Manager Express (IME), which provides much greater functionality, including integrated configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and reporting for up to five IPS sensors. Cisco IPS Manager Express is included with the Cisco IPS software and can be downloaded from http://www.cisco.com/go/ime. This EOS announcement does not affect IEV embedded in Cisco Security Manager (CSM). CSM customers with active and paid service and support contracts will continue to receive support of IEV embedded in CSM.
