Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of life dates for the Cisco Secure Access Control Server (ACS) Version 4.0. The last day to order the Cisco Secure Access Control Server (ACS) Version 4.0 is July 27, 2007. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) as shown in Table 1 of the EoL bulletin. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco Secure Access Control Server (ACS) Version 4.0. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to Cisco Secure ACS Version 4.1, which provides new compliance support, additional protocol support, and enhanced administration. Information about the replacement product can be found at: http://www.cisco.com/go/acs.

The recommended replacement for Cisco Secure ACS Version 4.0 is Cisco Secure ACS Version 4.1. Cisco Secure ACS 4.0 customers with Software Application Support (SAS) contracts may obtain this revision by requesting an upgrade using the Product Upgrade Tool at http://www.cisco.com/upgrade. Cisco Secure Access Control Server (ACS) supports consistent policy control and compliance for device administration, remote access, wireless and 802.1x access, and Network Admission Control (NAC). Cisco Secure ACS 4.1 provides new compliance support, additional protocol support, and enhanced administration. New features include: Enhanced password management controls, account controls and auditing for regulatory compliance (example: Sarbanes-Oxley compliance); PEAP with EAP-TLS support; Cisco NAC support enhancements; External database support for MAC authentication bypass; Improved logging and reporting including syslog support; Improved diagnostic and error messaging; and Support for the Japanese version of Windows 2003 (Cisco Secure ACS for Windows).
