Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the Cisco® ACS 2.6 for Windows/NT Servers. The last dayto order the Cisco ACS 2.6 for Windows/NT Servers is December 15, 2001. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until December 15, 2004.
Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco ACS 2.6 for Windows/NT Servers. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco Secure ACS 3.0 for Windows. Information about the replacement product can be found at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/secursw/ps2086/ps407/index.html. Cisco Secure ACS 3.0 supports 802.1x and improves access control for switched LAN and wireless LAN users.

The recommended replacement for the Cisco ACS 2.6 for Windows/NT Servers is the Cisco Secure ACS 3.0 for Windows. Cisco Secure ACS 3.0 supports MS CHAP version 2, allows command authorization sets that provide a centralized mechanism to manage TACACS+ administrative control, and supports EAP-MD5 and EAP-TLS authentication.
