End of sale refers to the time when certain products are no longer available for new purchases. It does not apply to the service and support programs for those products. Cisco will continue to support the VIP2-15 after EOS through the SMARTnet#x99 and comprehensive maintenance programs. Customers with either of these service contracts are entitled to free software updates, 24-hour phone support through the Technical Assistance Center, and advance replaced hardware for repairs. Comprehensive maintenance customers also receive onsite service. Customers who do not have a maintenance contract can purchase software updates and hardware repair services from Cisco to meet specific requirements rather than full-service coverage. Cisco is committed to providing software support for a minimum of two years and providing hardware support for five years after the EOS date.
Customers can use the Cisco Technology Migration Program (TMP) to trade-in products and receive credit toward the purchase of new Cisco equipment. For more information about Cisco TMP, customers should work with their Cisco Partner or Cisco account team. Cisco Partners can find additional TMP information on Partner Central at http://www.cisco.com/web/partners/pr11/incentive/tmp/index.html.
Customers may be able to continue to purchase the Versatile Interface Processor 2, Model 50 (VIP2-50) through the Cisco Certified Refurbished Equipment program.
