Cisco Systems® announces the end-of-sale and end-of-life dates for the Cisco® CNS Notification Engine 2.0. The last day to order the Cisco CNS Notification Engine 2.0 is January 1, 2004. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) until January 1, 2007.
Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the Cisco CNS Notification Engine 2.0. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.
Customers are encouraged to migrate to the Cisco CNS Notification Engine 3.0, which better equips the network operations center (NOC) in maintaining and increasing network uptime while remaining compliant with defined service-level agreements (SLAs). Table 3 provides relevant information for migrating from the Cisco CNS Notification Engine 2.0 to the Cisco CNS Notification Engine 3.0.

PRODUCT MIGRATION OPTIONS
The recommended replacement for the Cisco CNS Notification Engine 2.0 is the Cisco CNS Notification Engine 3.0. The Cisco CNS Notification Engine 3.0 has extended device support over the previous version with enhanced rules processing and correlation capability.
Customers can use the Cisco Technology Migration Plan (TMP) to trade in products and receive credit toward the purchase of new Cisco equipment. For more information about Cisco TMP, go to http://www.cisco.com/go/tradein/. The Cisco TMP application requires all users to have a Cisco.com user ID.
