Cisco Systems® announces the Cisco® WAN Manager (CWM) Release 15, offering new features for optimizing operator workflow and usability with support for the latest versions of the Cisco MGX®, BPX®, and IGX series of Cisco multiservice switches and voice gateways.
PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Cisco WAN Manager is an intelligent element management system (EMS) for the Cisco MGX, BPX, and IGX series of products. It operates as a standalone network management system or can be integrated as an element manager. Cisco WAN Manager offers a robust, scalable, and easy-to-use set of management tools for today's multiservice networks.
Cisco has improved the operational efficiencies of managing the Cisco advanced ATM Multiservice switches network. The new enhanced graphical user interface (GUI) and features available in the Cisco WAN Manager Release 15 include:

UPGRADE PATHS
Customers without Software Application Support plus Upgrades (SASU) contracts can purchase using upgrade part numbers in Table 2.
Cisco WAN Manager 15.0.00 can be upgraded from the Cisco WAN Manager 11.0.11 Patch 4 and Cisco WAN Manager 12.0.00 Patch 2 releases. Preserving user data from other Cisco WAN Manager releases is not supported. Refer to the CWM 15.0 Installation Guide for technical details on migrating user data from these previous releases.
The Cisco WAN Manager 15.0 Upgrade License part numbers are identified with a "JU" suffix in the number. Just like the CWM-15.0.00 part number, the Cisco WAN Manager-15.0.00JU part number is configurable and allows additional options to be added to the base configuration. These options can also be ordered separately as spares using the corresponding spare part numbers.
UPGRADING FROM EXISTING CISCO WAN MANAGER 9.X TO CISCO WAN MANAGER 15.0
Customers who have been using Cisco WAN Manager 9.x and prior releases, who want to upgrade to Cisco WAN Manager 15.0, have two options, depending on if they used the SNMP Service Agent in Cisco WAN Manager 9.x.
CWM 9.x customers who use the Cisco Service Agent currently to interface with their other Operations Support Systems should order the Cisco WAN Manager and SNMP Service Agent Major Upgrade. For Cisco WAN Manager 9.x customers who do not use the Cisco Service Agent need only purchase the Cisco WAN Manager Server Major Upgrade.
UPGRADING FROM EXISTING CISCO WAN MANAGER 10.X, 11.X, AND 12.X TO CISCO WAN MANAGER 15.0
Customers who have been using Cisco WAN Manager 10.x, 11.x and 12.x and want to upgrade to Cisco WAN Manager 15.0 should order the Cisco WAN Manager 15.0 Major Upgrade. All Cisco WAN Manager components being used should be upgraded as well for consistency and compatibility with Cisco WAN Manager 15.0 upgrade. If customers have standalone versions of the Statistics Collector, WANDEST, Network Modeling Tool and SNMP Service Agent, these components should be upgraded as well when the Cisco WAN Manager Server is upgraded to 15.0.
When ordering these major upgrades, customers can purchase either the SAS or SASU support programs offered if they had not done so when Cisco WAN Manager 9.x, 10.x, 11.x or 12.x was originally purchased and licensed.

AVAILABILITY
Cisco WAN Manager Release 15.0.00 is orderable and cannot be downloaded from Cisco.com. However, the Patch 2 of Cisco WAN Manager 15.0.00 is currently downloadable from Software Center. Customer should purchase Cisco WAN Manager 15.0.00 software and install it with Patch 2 for the GA quality.
New customers or existing customers who want to purchase additional Cisco WAN Manager licenses and its options can place orders through their normal sales channels.
Existing customers without Software Application Support plus Upgrades (SASU) contracts can purchase using upgrade part numbers in Table 2.
Existing Cisco WAN Manager customers with current Cisco Software Application Support plus Upgrades (SASU) contracts can order upgrade software using their service contract number via the Cisco Product Upgrade Tool at http://www.cisco.com/upgrade.
ORDERING INFORMATION
Cisco WAN Manager comrprises the base media kit and additional optional software (Statistics Collector, WANDEST and SNMP Service Agent, Network Modeling Tool), Java Client license, and 500,000 connection license for usage a CWM with more than 1.5 million connections. Table 2 lists the part numbers and descriptions associated with Cisco WAN Manager Release 15.0.00.

Cisco WAN Manager Annual Maintenance Contracts A Cisco Software Application Support plus Upgrades (SASU) or Software Application Support (SAS) contract must be purchased to receive access to technical support through the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) or Cisco.com. Cisco SASU also provides Cisco WAN Manager software upgrades as they are made available, for the duration of the customer's contract. Cisco SASU/SAS contracts do not cover third-party products.
