Cisco Systems© announces the end-of-sale and end-of life dates for the CiscoWorks Wireless LAN Solution Engine Release 2.5. The last day to order the affected product is November 13, 2003. Table 1 describes the end-of-life milestones, definitions, and dates for the affected product. Table 2 lists the product part numbers affected by this announcement.

Q. What IEEE 802.11 technologies does CiscoWorks WLSE 2.5 radio management and network management features support? A. CiscoWorks WLSE 2.5 radio management features support IEEE 802.11b Cisco Aironet access points, Cisco client adapters, and Cisco Compatible client devices today. Radio management support for Cisco Aironet 802.11a and 802.11g radios is planned for the second quarter of calendar year 2004. CiscoWorks WLSE network management capabilities are available for 802.11a and 802.11b Cisco Aironet access points, Cisco client adapters, and Cisco Compatible client devices today, with support for 802.11g planned for the second quarter of calendar year 2004.

Q. Can older versions of CiscoWorks WLSE hardware run CiscoWorks WLSE Software 2.X? A. Yes, but the number of access points and bridges supported is limited to 500. Customers who want to scale beyond that number will need to upgrade hardware to the CWWLSE-1130-K9 hardware platform.
