Product Overview

Cisco® Application Deployment Engine (ADE) 2130 is a standardized platform for Cisco appliance-based applications. Depending on the software packages with which Cisco ADE 2130 is deployed, its configuration can vary. However, all Cisco ADE 2130 platform products share a common base configuration:

• Intel quad-core processor

• Up to 16 GB error-correcting code (ECC) RAM

• Two integrated 10/100/1000T Gigabit Ethernet network interface ports

• Six Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) hard drive bays, which may be populated with hot-swappable, Redundant Array of Independent Drives (RAID) -configurable, server-grade drives.

• Rack-rail options suitable for either a two-post telco-style rack or a four-post server rack

• 2 rack-mount unit (3.4 in./8.7 cm height) form factor, 20.2 in./51.2 cm depth

• Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) expansion slots

Performance
Cisco ADE 2130 is a high-performance computing platform designed to support Cisco appliance-based applications.
Memory
Cisco ADE 2130 supports up to 16 GB of memory with server-grade error correction.
Variable-Speed Fan Support
Cisco ADE 2130 includes variable-speed fans to reduce operating noise. Through the use of temperature sensors within the server, the speed of the fans is adjusted to maintain the proper cooling. Noise generated by the fans is reduced by operating them only when required and at a speed based upon the cooling requirements.

Service and Customer Support

Service Plans
Cisco ADE 2130 platform applications will be supported by and stocked in Cisco global spares depots. Cisco ADE 2130 will offer service plans for the basic SMARTnet® contracts.
System-Diagnostic LEDs
Cisco ADE 2130 provides a bank of system-diagnostic LEDs on the front of the system to assist Cisco support engineers in identifying the system state and any potential issues.
