Cisco Provides Update on US $1.1 Billion Investment in India
Cisco® today announced that it is on course with its US $1.1 billion investment in India that it announced in October 2005 and is expanding its commitment to its initiative in India. The company also expects to triple its workforce in India over the next three to five years. John Chambers, Chairman and CEO of Cisco Systems, discussed the company’s investment progress in India today with the Honorable Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Shri Dayanidhi Maran, a year after outlining its latest investment plan with the nation.

Cisco Selects India as Site for the Cisco Globalization Center
Cisco® today announced the next stage of its globalization strategy with the selection of India as the site for its globalization center, called “Cisco Globalization Center East.” In addition, the company announced the appointment of Wim Elfrink to Chief Globalization Officer (CGO). The announcement was made by John Chambers, Chairman and CEO of Cisco Systems, on the first day of his two-day visit to India. In addition to the role of CGO, Elfrink will retain the position of Senior Vice President of Customer Advocacy, reporting to John Chambers. Elfrink will relocate to Bangalore, India, in January 2007.

Cisco Appoints Jangoo Dalal to lead India and SAARC Operations
Cisco has appointed Mr. Jangoo Dalal as President of its India and SAARC region (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation). He will report directly to Mr. Owen Chan, Ciscos President, Asia Pacific Operations. Mr. Dalal has been with Cisco for more than nine years and has headed the companys Enterprise and Commercial operations in India for the last two years. Prior to this, he was based in Singapore and was responsible for developing Ciscos Channel Operations & Strategy function, across the Asia Pacific region.

John Chambers, Chairman and CEO, Cisco, to visit India
John T. Chambers, Chairman and CEO of Cisco Inc., the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, will visit India on December 6th and 7th, 2006. During this visit he will be meeting with ministers, senior government officials, leaders of Indian industry, key Indian customers and partners during his two day India visit. Mr. Chambers will be spending a day each in Delhi and Bangalore respectively.

Global Security Study: Helpdesk Calls On The Rise, 2007 Spending To Increase

Cisco Systems collaborates with IIT-Roorkee on Mobile Agent Research
Cisco Systems, the global leader in networking for the Internet, today announced its collaboration with the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, for advanced research on mobile agent technology. As per the collaboration, Cisco will set up state of the art networking infrastructure to facilitate research and development on mobile agents in the wide area network (WAN) and wireless environments. Indo-American Chambers of Commerce honors Cisco India
Cisco Systems, the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, today announced that Cisco India has been recognised by the Indo-American Chambers of Commerce (IACC). The IACC has instituted the 'Indo-American Corporate Excellence awards' and this year Cisco is the winner in two categories - 'Overall Best' and 'Best Company in Technology, Communications & Entertainment' for the year 2006. The citations, which are part of the IACC Corporate Excellence awards, were presented to Cisco Systems India at a ceremony, held recently in Mumbai. The award was given to Cisco based on financial performance, human capital and management, corporate social responsibility and overall contribution to Indo-U.S. business.

Cisco Systems Announces Organizational Changes in India & SAARC Region Operations
Cisco Systems announced today that Mr. Rangu Salgame will leave his position of President - Cisco Systems, India & SAARC . Mr. David Caspari, Cisco's Vice President of Service Provider Operations, Asia Pacific, after a transition process, will become the acting President of Cisco India, while a search for a permanent replacement for Mr. Salgame is conducted. Mr. Caspari will continue to report to Mr. Owen Chan, Ciscos President of Asia Pacific Operations.

By the year 2020 India, China and the US will jointly contribute USD 1 trillion to the global economy, according to a study "Foresight 2020" conducted by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) and sponsored by Cisco Systems. The next fifteen years will see significant outpacing by Asia and particularly the powerhouses of India and China of the rest of the world in gross domestic product (GDP), wages and consuming power. India will contribute 12.2% to global economic growth by 2020.

Cisco Systems and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Sign Education MOU for Andhra Pradesh
Cisco Systems and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, today announced that they had signed a Memorandum of Understanding to provide the Cisco Networking Academy Program in non profit educational institutions across Andhra Pradesh. As per agreement, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Colleges of Engineering in Hyderabad, Anantapur and Kakinada will be accredited as Regional Academies. These academies will further identify and accredit 250 non profit educational institutions as Local Academies under them within a period of two years. The academies will impart networking education to around 25,000 students every year.

Cisco and NISG host PUBLIC SECTOR SUMMIT 2006
