BHEL selects Cisco as infrastructure provider for its Campus-wide Connectivity Project in Trichy
Cisco, the global leader in networking for the Internet, today announced that it has been selected as the infrastructure provider for Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL's) campus wide connectivity project in Trichy. BHEL has invested nearly Rs.5 crores in the project, encompassing the company's 2908 acre campus.

Cisco Invests US $50 Million for New Campus in Bangalore
Cisco broke ground today on a new one-million square foot campus in Bangalore that will support staff from Cisco's Research and Development (R&D), IT, Sales and Customer Support teams in India. The company will spend approximately US $50 million to build the new integrated campus, which is expected to be completed by June 2007.

Cisco Enters into Agreement with Government of India; IT Minister Maran Welcomes Cisco's US $1 Billion Investment in India
Cisco and the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Government of India, announced today that they will collaborate to support India's National E-Governance Plan. Cisco will also support Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited's (BSNL) telecom network evolution by establishing Asia Pacific's first IP Next Generation Network (NGN) Lab for BSNL in Chennai. To support these two initiatives, Cisco will invest a combined US $10 million.

Frost & Sullivan Study Shows Small and Medium Businesses in Asia Pacific Moving to Primary-Vendor Networking Solutions
A recent study by Frost & Sullivan found that small and medium businesses (SMBs) in Asia Pacific are moving away from multi-vendor networking solutions to primary-vendor suites. The main drivers for this trend are considerations for consolidation, convenience and cost, at a time when growing network complexity is posing a challenge in terms of management, integration and cost. The study, commissioned by Cisco, surveyed over 100 SMBs in Australia, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, India, and Singapore.
