The Peel District School Board (PDSB) was saddled with a 20-year old PBX phone system that routinely overloaded during peak call times. PDSB chose to implement a Cisco Unified Communications (UC) solution rather than a new PBX to gain added functionality while saving money and reducing call wait times. Already, the UC system has enabled creation of a call centre that makes it easy for parents and teachers to receive information about closings and other updates throughout the school year.
