The CCNP Wireless certification training and exams have been restructured and the content has been redistributed across the certification training courses. As a result, all new trainings have been developed and new course names and acronyms being used beginning with version 1.

The CCNP Wireless exams have also been revised and have new exam numbers. Candidates can choose to take either the existing exams or the new exams. The last day to test for the existing exams will be September 21, 2016.

The CCNP Wireless Migration Tool is available to assist you in the transition to the new exams.

CCNP Wireless certification addresses the need for designing, implementing, and securing Cisco Wireless networks for optimal performance. CCNP Wireless certification emphasizes wireless networking principles and theory. It also recognizes the expertise and technical acumen of wireless professionals who can assess and translate network business requirements into technical specifications that in turn, result in successful business outcomes.

Prerequisites

Valid Cisco CCNA Wireless or any Cisco CCIE certification can act as a prerequisite.

The CUWSS Conducting Cisco Unified Wireless Site Survey exam is the exam associated with the CCNP Wireless certification. This exam assesses a candidate's capability to plan and conduct a wireless site survey, to design the RF network and to conduct a post installation assessment to ensure compliancy. Candidates can prepare for this exam by taking the CUWSS Conducting Cisco Unified Wireless Site Survey course.

This exam tests a candidate's knowledge of implementing wireless networks based on the applicable Cisco controller and Unified switching architectures that support high availability, QoS, multicast, and mobility services.

Candidates can prepare for this exam by taking the IUWVN Implementing Cisco Unified Wireless Voice Networks course.

This exam tests a candidate's knowledge of troubleshooting and optimizing Enterprise wireless infrastructure and related services plus the tools and methodologies needed to identify and resolve client connectivity, performance, and RF issues.

Candidates can prepare for this exam by taking the IUWMS Implementing Cisco Unified Wireless Mobility Services course.

300-375 WISECURE

This exam tests a candidate's knowledge of implementing client device security, identity based authentication and services, along with securing and monitoring the Enterprise wireless infrastructure.

The Implementing Advanced Cisco Unified Wireless Security exam is the exam associated with the CCNP Wireless certification. This exam assesses a candidate's capability to secure the wireless network from security threats via appropriate security policies and best practices, to properly implement security standards, and to properly configure wireless security components. Candidates can prepare for this exam by taking the IAUWS Implementing Advanced Cisco Unified Wireless Security course.

Cisco Professional-level certifications (CCDP, CCNP Cloud, CCNP Collaboration, CCNP Data Center, CCNP Routing and Switching, CCNP Security, CCNP Service Provider, and CCNP Wireless) are valid for three years.

To recertify, pass ONE of the following before the certification expiration date:

  • Pass any current 642-XXX Professional-level or any 300-XXX Professional-level exam, or
  • Pass any current CCIE Written Exam, or
  • Pass the current CCDE Written Exam OR current CCDE Practical Exam, or
  • Pass the Cisco Certified Architect (CCAr) interview AND the CCAr board review to extend lower certifications

When using a higher level of certification to extend other certifications, the expiration date of other certifications will extend to the expiration date of the higher certification (i.e.: If you have one year left on your CCNA certification and you earn a CCIE certification (which has a two-year certification life) then both your CCIE certification and your CCNA certification will expire two years from the date you achieved the CCIE certification).
