Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes supports upgrading only from specific versions of Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes. For supported upgrades, see the applicable Release Notes for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes.

We do not support mixed template environments. If you are upgrading from one release of Domino server to another, you must upgrade all users to the same server and template environment.

How to Upgrade to Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes Release 6.x

Because you must upgrade the operating system from Windows 2000 to Windows 2003 when upgrading from Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing Release 5.4 to Release 6.x, the procedure for upgrading Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes involves reinstalling the software and performing data migration. To upgrade an integration server with Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing Release 5.4 and Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes 5.4, do the following tasks in the order presented:

1. Make sure that you have Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Audio Server Release 6.x installed on a Cisco Unified MeetingPlace 8100 series server. For installation or upgrade instructions, see the applicable Installation and Upgrade Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Audio Server, at http://cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/ps5664/ps5669/products_installation_and_configuration_guides_list.html.

2. Verify that you are currently using supported releases of the Domino server and Lotus Notes clients. For system requirements, see the System Requirements for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace, at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/ps5664/ps5669/prod_installation_guides_list.html.

3. Back up required files on the integration server. Perform the "To Back up Files for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes" procedure.

4. Upgrade the Web Conferencing software on the integration server to Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing Release 6.x. For instructions, see the applicable Installation and Upgrade Guide for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing, at http://cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/ps5664/ps5669/products_installation_and_configuration_guides_list.html.

5. Test Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing to ensure it works by scheduling and attending a meeting.

6. Install Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes Release 6.0 by performing the "To Install Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes" procedure.

To Back up Files for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes


Step 1 Make a backup copy of the user.id file on the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes server. The default location for this file is <drive>:\Program Files\Lotus\Notes\Data. Save the copy to an external location where you can access it after upgrading the server operating system.

Step 2 Make a backup copy of the notification.tpl file on the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes server. The default location for this file is <drive>:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\Cisco MeetingPlace for Notes. Save the copy to an external location where you can access it after upgrading the server operating system.


To Install Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes


Step 1 Install a supported version of the Lotus Notes client on the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes server.

Step 2 Copy the user.id file that you backed up in Step 1 of the "To Back up Files for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes" procedure to the Lotus Notes client Data directory (the default is <drive>:\Program Files\Lotus\Notes\Data).

Step 3 Run the Lotus Notes client on the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes server and browse to the location of the user.id file that you copied to the server in Step 2. The client creates the notes.ini file.

Step 4 Run the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes Release 5.4 installation executable (Setup.exe) . (You must install Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes Release 5.4 on the server prior to upgrading to Release 6.0.)

Step 5 Copy the notification.tpl file that you backed up in Step 2 of the "To Back up Files for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes" procedure to the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes directory.

Step 6 Stop the Domino server and delete the following files from the Domino server Data folder:

mpsa.ntf

mpsa.nsf

mpnotes 5.4 mail template

Step 7 Run the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes Release 6.0 executable (Setup.exe) and complete the InstallShield wizard to upgrade. Maintain all defaults. The installer will automatically upgrade the current Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes components.

Step 8 Perform the post-installation tasks in the "How to Complete Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes Post-Installation Tasks" section on page 2-7.
