Revised: January 16, 2013, OL-16441-01

This chapter contains the procedures you perform to configure the hardware options for the Cisco TelePresence System 500 32" and includes the following section:

Cisco Digital Media Player

Cisco Digital Media Player

The DMP is a highly reliable, IP-based hardware endpoint that enables digital signage and Enterprise TV through the ability to play high-definition live and on-demand video, motion graphics, Web, and dynamic content on digital displays.

For more information about the DMP, refer to this URL:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps7220/tsd_products_support_series_home.html

Note If you use a Cisco TelePresence Touch device with your CTS 500 32" system, you have additional configuration options to control the media being played with your device after you connect the DMP. For more information, see the "Using the Digital Media Player" section of the Cisco TelePresence Touch 12 User Guide.

To configure the CTS 500 32" system for use with the DMP, complete the following steps:

Step 1 Remove the rear codec cover.

Step 2 Make the following changes to the codec connections:

a. Remove the HD video cable from the connection labeled "Auxiliary PC Video" in Figure 1-2.

b. Insert the HD video cable into the connection labeled "Auxiliary Input (ex. DMP)" in Figure 1-2.

Step 3 Replace the codec cover.

Step 4 Insert the HDMI connection for the DMP into the connection labeled "Aux" that is at the foot of the column base (callout 3 in Figure 1-3).

Note If you have a table stand system, these connections are at the foot of the table stand.

Note If you want to share a presentation, use the VGA and, if required, audio connections labeled "PC" that are shown as callouts 7 and 8 in Figure 1-3.

Note If you use a Cisco Unified IP Phone as your call control device, and you have a document camera and a Cisco Digital Media Player (DMP) connected to the CTS 500 32", and the document camera video does not display during a conference, use the View softkey on the Cisco Unified IP Phone to view the document camera video.
