This chapter describes the Cisco Smart+Connected Spaces (Smart+Connected Spaces) solution and benefits.
The Smart+Connected Spaces solution allows you to book and manage conference/Cisco TelePresence (TP) rooms and workspaces/offices, and the resources in these spaces. It also provides features for enhanced organizational communication that help you to easily access news, ecological updates, energy consumption data, and notifications that provide vital information in emergency situations. The Smart+Connected Spaces features contribute to better resource management, energy savings, and environment-friendly corporate practices.
You can view/access the various features of the Smart+Connected Spaces application by using touchscreen and non-touchscreen Cisco IP Phones, touchscreen and non-touchscreen signage/IEC, room panels, kiosks, and the web portals for meeting spaces, workspaces, and kiosks.
Some additional features are available when using touchscreen signage and touchscreen Cisco IP Phones. For more information, see the “Features Available in Signage” section and the “Features Available in Cisco IP Phones” section in Chapter 2, “Collaborating by Using Meeting Spaces”.
