The WPAN gateway and range extender use a multi-channel frequency hopping spread spectrum radio that operates in the unlicensed 902 to 928 MHz frequency ISM band for North America, or in subsets of the 902 to 928 MHz frequency band in other regulatory domains. The specific frequency band and channel representation for each supported regulatory domain are shown in the tables in this section. The WPAN gateway and range extender use frequency limiting firmware with a “channel notching” feature to restrict transmitting in channels outside of the allowable frequency band for each specific regulatory domain.
The channel plan information in this section is for the following regulatory domain or geographic regions:
For the FCC and IC regulatory domains, the WPAN gateway and WPAN range extender transmit in the 902 to 928 MHz band. The channel spacing is 400 kHz. 64 radio frequency (RF) channels are utilized, as listed in Table A-10 .
For the Brazil regulatory domain, the WPAN gateway and WPAN range extender transmit in the 902 to 907.5 MHz band and the 915 to 928 MHz band. The channel spacing is 400 kHz. 45 RF channels are utilized, as listed in Table A-11 .
For the Hong Kong regulatory domain, the WPAN gateway and WPAN range extender transmit in the 920 to 925 MHz band. The channel spacing is 400 kHz. 11 RF channels are utilized, as listed in Table A-12 .
For the Australia and New Zealand regulatory domains, the WPAN gateway and WPAN range extender transmit in the 915 to 928 MHz band. The channel spacing is 400 kHz. 32 RF channels are utilized, as listed in Table A-13 .
For the Mexico regulatory domain, the WPAN gateway and WPAN range extender transmit in the 902 to 928 MHz band. The channel spacing is 400 kHz. 64 RF channels are utilized, as listed in Table A-14 .
For the Singapore regulatory domain, the WPAN gateway and WPAN range extender transmit in the 920 to 925 MHz band. The channel spacing is 400 kHz. 11 RF channels are used, as listed Table A-15 .
For the Japan regulatory domain, the WPAN gateway and WPAN range extender transmit in the 916.7 to 923.5 MHz band. The channel spacing is 400 kHz. 16 RF channels are used, as listed in Table A-16 .
For the Thailand regulatory domain, the WPAN gateway and WPAN range extender transmit in the 920 to 925 MHz band. The channel spacing is 400 kHz. 11 RF channels are used, as listed in Table A-17 .
For the Malaysian regulatory domain, the WPAN gateway and WPAN range extender transmit in the 919 to 923 MHz band. The channel spacing is 400 kHz. 10 RF channels are used, as listed in Table A-18 .
For the Chinese regulatory domain, the WPAN gateway and WPAN range extender transmit in the 920.5 to 924.5 MHz band. The channel spacing is 400 kHz. 9 RF channels are used, as listed in Table A-19 .
For the Korean regulatory domain, the WPAN gateway and WPAN range extender transmit in the 917 to 920.8 MHz band. The channel spacing is 400 kHz. 9 RF channels are used as listed in Table A-20 .

The hazardous location standards for the WPAN gateway are listed in Table A-26 .
Note There are no hazardous location standards for the WPAN range extender.
This system has been evaluated for RF exposure for humans in reference to ANSI C 95.1 (American National Standards Institute) limits. The evaluation was based on ANSI C 95.1 and FCC OET Bulletin 65C rev 01.01. The minimum separation distance from the antenna to general bystander is 9 inches (23 cm) to maintain compliance.
